Sajjada Nashin – Hazrat Sufi Syed Waseem-ur-Rehman Shah (JUGNU MIYA) (دامت برکاته)

Hazrat Sufi Syed Waseem-ur-Rehman Shah (دامت برکاته) is the present Sajjada Nashin of Khanqah- Mehfil -e-Hasani (Ashram) Dargah Qutbul Auliya, The noble grandson and spiritual inheritor of Hazrat Sufi Syed Mansur-ul-Hasan Shah (رحمة الله عليه). His spiritual authority is rooted in the unbroken chain (silsila) of Imam Hasan ibn Ali (عليه السلام) and the great saint Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (رحمة الله عليه), a lineage that reflects the Qur’anic command of preservation of piety:

“And those who are guided, He increases them in guidance and gives them their righteousness.” (Surah Muhammad 47:17)

Qur’anic Foundations of His Mission

The Qur’an emphasizes both purification of the soul and service to humanity. Allah ﷻ declares:

“He has succeeded who purifies it, and he has failed who corrupts it.” (Surah ash-Shams 91:9-10)

“And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.” (Surah al-Ma’idah 5:2)

Hazrat Waseem-ur-Rehman Shah continues this divine directive by guiding seekers towards tazkiyah (purification) through zikr and meditation, and by extending the Khankah’s service through charity, education, and community programs.

Hadith Reflections in His Leadership

The mission of the current Gaddi Nashin is firmly anchored in Prophetic guidance:

– The Prophet ﷺ said: “The best of people are those who are most beneficial to mankind.” (al-Mu‘jam al-Awsaṭ, Hasan)
This Hadith is reflected in the Khankah’s humanitarian programs — food distribution, orphan and widow care, and global relief work.

– The Prophet ﷺ also said: “In the body there is a piece of flesh; if it is sound, the whole body is sound, and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. Truly, it is the heart.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim)
Hazrat Waseem-ur-Rehman Shah emphasizes purification of the heart as the root of all spiritual progress, guiding disciples to reform inwardly before outward action.

– And he ﷺ declared: “I was only sent to perfect noble character.” (Musnad Ahmad, Sahih)
Under the Sajjada Nashin’s leadership, the Khankah continues this Prophetic mission by instilling humility, compassion, and discipline in its mureedeen.

His Global Role

Today, Hazrat Sufi Syed Waseem-ur-Rehman Shah has expanded the reach of the Khanqah across India, Pakistan, Nepal, the Gulf, Africa, Europe, and North America. His presence preserves the inner flame of his grandfather while adapting the Khanqah’s mission to modern realities — empowering youth, promoting interfaith harmony, and strengthening social service networks.

Through his leadership, the Khanqah remains a living sanctuary of peace and guidance, embodying the Qur’anic principle:

“Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds — the Most Merciful will appoint for them affection.” (Surah Maryam 19:96)
